Multi-Instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and composer.

My name is Louis Van Camp. I am a songwriter, recording artist, and sound designer. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, but currently reside in Chicago, Illinois where I am attending Northwestern University as a student in the Masters in Sound Arts and Industry program.

So far, I’ve produced over three full-length original albums, over a dozen original songs for video games, two ninety-minute plays, full scores for four short films, a full-length radio production, several live-recorded musical performances. I’ve engineered numerous recording sessions using an SSL analog mixer, and provided foley and sound design for movies, too. I am experienced in a range of musical styles and production techniques ranging from MIDI-based, sample-library orchestral scoring to “real world” analog recording.

I grew up listening to music from the 1960s and 1970s and have an affinity for that era’s production and sound. For years, I enjoyed playing in cover bands but eventually discovered a love for writing original songs. I eventually pivoted away from playing live shows to focus on writing and composition.

After producing a few solo albums, I started writing music for video games and building soundscapes for theater productions. Around then, I also began composing scores for short films and writing full orchestrations.

I am currently taking on film and game composition contracts, as well as live theater sound design jobs. Please reach out here if you need music, a sound designer, or audio editor for your projects!
